Certificates Guarantee Nintendo Wii
With Wii shortages frustrating many potential buyers, Nintendo has some good news. On Friday 21 December, if you go to any GameStop shop and buy a Nintendo Wii certificate then you are guaranteed delivery of a console.
The bad news, however, is that you will have to wait a month before you can get your hands on your Nintendo Wii. So, for $250 you have to wait a month, but on the other hand, at least they’re trying. The certificate will be supplied in a custom-designed DVD case featuring a picture of Mario and the Nintendo Wii on the cover.
So let me get this straight, you give GameStop your $250 and they get to sit on it for a full month, earning interest, and in return you get an empty DVD case and eventually a Wii? The least they could have done is thrown in a T-Shirt that read: “My Parents Waited Too Long to Shop for Me So All I Got for Christmas was this Shirt and a Lot of Empty Promises. See you in Therapy in Five Years.”
TheLedger reports the same. Anyway, for many Nintendo Wii fans, their dream is just one day away so they had better get there early tomorrow because it’s likely there will be a huge line.
