84 Year-Old Wins Nintendo Wii Bowling TournamentNancy Davies, an 84 year old woman from Washington DC, beat real-life bowling champion, Hal Winters, in a Nintendo Wii Bowling Sports tournament. Despite being a bowler for the best part of his life, Hal Winters was beaten by Davies who had just one year’s experience on the Nintendo Wii84 Year-Old Wins Nintendo Wii Bowling Tournament.

According to tgdaily report, Davies’ final score was 202, edging out Winters’ 182. She used to work in a bowling alley, and watched her grandsons play the Wii game, but said she just “got lucky.

The Wii has made headlines for its ability to appeal to the senior citizen crowd, as well as other groups that have traditionally been considered non-gamers, including the middle-aged and women of all demographics.

[…]

Meanwhile, even some die hard gamers are still trying to get their hands on one. The Wii has been a consistent sell-out ever since its debut in November 2006. It became the first video game console to be completely sold out for two Christmas holiday seasons in a row.

The retirement center where the tournament took place received a few Nintendo Wiis in March, which instantly became a hit with the people over there. They are also hosting Hockey and Shooting tournaments. Probably we’ll not have to wait too long for the next winning pensioner to appear.

Worms Coming To Nintendo Wii

admin | Strategy | Wednesday, 26 December 2007

Worms Coming To Nintendo WiiTHQ Inc. today announced Worms: A Space OddityWorms Coming To Nintendo Wii, the newest iteration of the popular turn-based strategy game scheduled for release on the Nintendo WiiWorms Coming To Nintendo Wii in spring 2008. This time, however, players will be closer to the action than ever before, launching attacks through a wide range of gesture-based maneuvers only possible with the Wii Remote.

According to joystic the Nintendo WiiWorms Coming To Nintendo Wii will also offer four-player online play, and there’s also apparently a fresh new visual style. THQ’s press release certainly makes for exciting reading.

In Worms: A Space Oddity, players will enjoy the ultimate blend of classic Worms game modes and re-invented single-player missions, as well as multiplayer modes that include a host of all-new party games and even more customization options. The game takes advantage of the Wii’s intuitive controls, on-screen hints and the redesigned interface with an in-game help system. Worms: A Space Oddity demonstrates significant visual, technical and design advancement over its predecessors with a new visual style that abandons the traditional drawn approach and replaces it with a distinctive style inspired by classic Sci-Fi looks. The Worms battles take place across six planets, each with its own, unique environments and global events. The online multiplayer experience pits up to four Worms fiends from all over the world against each other.

When I read that Worms was coming to the Nintendo WiiWorms Coming To Nintendo Wii I was really happy because I’ve many memories of Worms on the PC and they’re all superb. It might even be one of the few games that is actually better to play in 2D rather than 3D. Even now I still play it from time to time. Of course, it’s another story entirely when you consider the multiplayer mode where you can compete with people from all over the world. That’s when the party will really start with Worms on the Nintendo WiiWorms Coming To Nintendo Wii games console.

New Ninja Game For Nintendo Wii

admin | Fighting Action | Wednesday, 26 December 2007

New Ninja Game For Nintendo WiiA new game called Ninja ReflexNew Ninja Game For Nintendo Wii will be released for the Nintendo WiiNew Ninja Game For Nintendo Wii. Unlike most ninja games, this one will not emphasize violence, but rather the stealth and cunning that ninjas are actually known for.

Developer David Luntz tells MTV News that “[t]hose games are, although awesome games, I felt that that road of ‘Let’s go around and kill people’ had been fairly well explored… My focus was less on the killing aspect of martial arts as on the path of skill.”

Luntz wanted a game that emphasized the ninja traits of moving with undetectable speed, a test of reflexes beyond any first-person shooter, racing game or anything else that requires a gamer’s finely honed ability to twitch. The Wii’s motion control could do this, he thought, and time players down to the milliseconds.

The upcoming game, set for release in March, consists of six mini-games: nunchuck swinging, katana sword-fighting, shuriken-throwing, firefly-catching, fish-catching (by “hand”) and ensnaring flies with chopsticks. Each involve just the Wii’s remote controller (not, ironically, the secondary nunchuck) and can be played in multiplayer.

It will have both platform and action types of gameplay as well as feature downloadable content, a built-in level editor, and multiplayer components. The downloadable content will provide additional elements for the gamers who purchase the game. The Nintendo WiiNew Ninja Game For Nintendo Wii version of Ninja ReflexNew Ninja Game For Nintendo Wii is set for a March 2008 release and can be pre-ordered here.
