WiimoteMany companies are always going to want to cash in on Nintendo’s success and one of them is Solarmemo. The company produces flash memory and have recently started to produce USB Flash Drives which look like Nintendo’s Wiimote.

The Wedisk is available in different sizes from 1GB up to 8GB and in white or black. By pushing the A button, the USB connector comes out so what makes this flash different to others is the fact that it looks like a Wiimote. Deadly Creatures By THQ

admin | Horror | Wednesday, 20 February 2008

SpiderMany people are frightened of spiders and other creatures, but this post isn’t about overcoming your fear. Instead, it’s about an upcoming horror game by THQ called Deadly Creatures which makes a change as there aren’t any other games like this for the Nintendo WiiDeadly Creatures By THQ.

Horror games like Alone In The Dark or Resident Evil can’t compete with Deadly Creatures as they are zombie-oriented survival games and there are no scorpions or tarantulas. Those two creatures are in Deadly Creatures and you can even play as one in order to try to survive in cruel desert conditions. Personally speaking I think this game will be appreciated by Nintendo WiiDeadly Creatures By THQ owners for two reasons.

Firstly, and as I mentioned, it’s a completely a new type of game in the genre of horror, and secondly, it’s being produced by THQ which is well known for the quality of its games.

According to QJ.NET the game is expected to be released this year, but there is no word yet on the exact date. The trailer is already out and waiting for your judgment.

Torque Developer’s Engine For Wii Updated

admin | Games | Monday, 18 February 2008

WiiWhen developing a new game a good engine is essential. Usually, game developers create their own for high profile titles, license it to others and update it whenever necessary.

GarageGames recently announced that they’ve updated the Torque For Developers Engine for the Nintendo WiiTorque Developers Engine For Wii Updated to version 1.5 Version. This means that new features will allow developers to make bigger and better games for Wii.

To be more detailed here is what QJ.NET reports.

Version 1.5 will carry a new 2D drag and drop game creation feature for the engine’s Torque Game Builder. This application is often used in the creation of casual games.

Here’s a rundown of the other functions of Torque for the Wii:

* Extensible Wii Remote support
* Nintendo Wii optimized skinned mesh rendering
* Nintendo Wii optimized compressed Texture
* Nintendo Wii optimized interior support
* Nintendo Wii optimized hardware blending for terrain textures
* Comprehensive Lot Check compliance
* Nintendo Wii graphics and audio abstraction layers
* Advanced Character and Shape Animations

As you can see from the list there are new features for optimizing graphics as well such as compressed texture or hardware blending for terrain textures so this should mean better looking games. Although the new graphics will not match those on the PS3 or Xbox360, things should be noticeably different while we wait for the Nintendo Wii 2 to see the light of day.

Nintendo Wii 2 And Xbox 720 In 2010?

admin | Gaming News | Monday, 18 February 2008

WiiGames Consoles are usually updated or replaced every five or six years in order to make use of the latest technology and to compete with gaming on the PC which is usually preforms better.

Of course, next generation consoles like the Xbox360 and PS3 have changed the situation and now provide competitive performance and graphics while the Nintendo WiiNintendo Wii 2 And Xbox 720 In 2010? became the best selling games console in the world thanks to its innovative controllers.

Moreover, games on todays consoles look better and are a lot more fun, but that’s not the limit. WIRED BLOG NETWORK examines what a game market analyst predicted in an interview with GamePro.

Two new machines from Nintendo and Microsoft will reach the market by the end of 2010, which would be a record in between hardware releases.

[…]

According to the article, the increasing pace of the tech materials will force both companies to keep up, creating even better graphics while using chips that are getting smaller, cheaper, and more powerful.

As for Sony and its third-place PS3, here’s hoping that they concentrate on leveraging their Blu-ray win and making their powerful machine way cheaper.

I believe that after some five years games will become too close to movies in terms of realism. Nintendo’s Wii 2 definitely will provide better graphics and with sensitive controllers it again would become the most wanted console. Although we might see another innovation from Microsoft or Sony that might cover Nintendo’s success. Hard to believe but competition makes wonders.
