Call Of Duty 5 On Nintendo Wii

The best action shooter of 2008, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, was responsible the much of Activision’s revenue. It would have probably brought in more money for the company if they had released a version for Nintendo Wii.

Perhaps with that in mind, Activision say they a version of Call of Duty 5 will be available for Nintendo Wii. The game is expected to be released later this year or in a worst case scenario, in the first quarter of 2009. There were rumors that Call of Duty 5 again will be set during WW II but according to SOFTPEDIA, Activision has denied this.

The people from Activision dispelled this idea, with Griffiths saying that “We’ll bring the intensity of the recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title to a new military theater to engage our significantly larger user base which nearly doubled last year as new users came into the franchise”.

Reaching out to Nintendo Wii owners might yet double Activison’s profit and take the title of best action game of 2009 for most of the gaming platforms out there. Considering that there is likely a huge army of hungry Wii gamers waiting for such a game on their consoles, it’s very likely indeed.

Although not likely to be the Nintendo Wii version, an idea of what is in store with Call of Duty 5 can be seen fromt he trailer below.
