It’s no wonder that there are so many people playing Super Mario Galaxy. The 3D action-platform game, which follows Mario on his quest through space to save Princess Peach from his arch-nemesis Bowser, has a variety of exciting new features.

The game has received rave reviews across the board and already sold over 500,000 copies in its first week reports Canada.com. Super Mario Blogs has played the game.

Gameplay was excellent. I was expecting something a little more in terms of 2 player gameplay, though. The star bits don’t do a lot of damage. The camera job was excellent, and as always, the CGi cutscenes are making brilliant use of the ATI technologies in Wii.

If such reviews are anything to go by, Super Mario Galaxy might be the game of the moment for the Nintendo Wii as Christmas and the New Year draws closer. I played the original Mario a long time ago and then it was the best game too. Even now I sometimes play it for fun and even today it still looks pretty interesting. I’ve not played Super Mario Galaxy yet, but I’ve no doubt it rocks.
